PVT John Muños, a son of Mexican-American immigrants, deployed to 1951 to Korea with the U.S. Army in 1951 with Co. F, 38th Regimental Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division. While his new wife waited at home, John fought in the ill-fated Battle of Bloody Ridge.
